The Resurrection Project started the Resurrection Basketball League 10 years ago to provide a place for youth to play basketball in a family-oriented, safe environment. The outdoor league takes place on a different block each Friday night in the summer to "take the streets" for healthy activities. Other neighborhoods in the New Communities Program have copied the approach and created their own leagues, which now meet each year in a citywide Hoops in the Hood championship series.

The Resurrection Project is also involved on health related projects with its partners, including Orozco School, which is building an on-site medical center, and Alivio Medical Center, which runs the annual 5K Alivio y Salud Run for Health, which will take place this year on May 30, 2009.
