Neighborhood youth are writing stories, taking pictures, creating videos and keeping statistics to learn about community development work while gaining new multi-media skills. Check out their work here.

  • Girls (in the Game) create video documentary

    Inspired after seeing the Dove Campaign for Real Beauty, a group of girls involved with Girls in the Game secured their own grant money and produced a documentary about self-esteem and living active and healthy lifestyles.

  • Students create oral history around Bloomingdale Trail

    Twenty-four students in the After School Matters summer program in Logan Square went out in the neighborhood along the Bloomingdale rail line — the future Bloomingdale Trail — and talked to residents about life in Logan Square. Read their work and see their photos.

    Some of the young men who participate in the Beyond the Ball program at Little Village Lawndale High School are also pretty good behind the video camera.
